onja Martin Poole serves as the coordinator of the Center for Research on Education, Diversity & Excellence (CREDE), a research center focused on improving the education of students whose ability to reach their full potential is challenged by language or cultural barriers, race, geographic location, or poverty. She is a former secondary school teacher and spent over 10 years working as a college instructor of economics and African American Studies. Her research interests are in educational equity, teacher quality, diversity, policy analysis and evaluation, and the intersection of race, class and education.
